Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park
Himalayan Zoological Park was established on 14 August 1958 in the Birch Hill neighbourhood of Darjeeling under the Department of Education of the Government of West Bengal with a goal to study and preserve Himalayan fauna.

The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) is one of the premier mountaineering institutes in the world. This Institute was founded by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on November 4th, 1954, to commemorate the first successful ascent of Mount Everest by late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa & Sir Edmund Hillary.
